Women Leaders in STEMM

Join us for an inspiring and empowering event celebrating Women Leaders in STEMM. This event aims to recognise the remarkable achievements of women in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine (STEMM) fields, foster meaningful discussions on key topics, and provide a platform for networking and collaboration.

Breaking Barriers: Overcoming Challenges in STEMM Leadership,

Empowering the Next Generation: Mentorship and Support Networks,

Innovations in STEMM: Driving Change and Impact,

Diversity and Inclusion in STEMM: Opportunities and Challenges, and

Balancing Act: Navigating Career and Personal Life in STEMM Fields.

Event Goals:

Highlight the achievements and contributions of Women leaders in STEMM,

Facilitate discussions on key topics relevant to women in STEMM fields,

Provide networking opportunities for attendees to connect and collaborate,

Inspire and empower women to pursue leadership roles in STEMM, and

Promote the Homeward Bound program and subsidize my participation.

At Women Leaders in STEMM, we believe in inclusion and diversity. We welcome individuals of all genders to join us in this celebration of leadership and innovation. Together, we can build a more equitable and brighter future in STEMM!


5:30 – 6:00pm Networking session including finger food and drinks,

6:00 – 7:00pm Intro and speakers’ presentation,

7:00 – 8:00pm Panel session including Q&A, and

8:00 – 8:30pm Final networking session including sweets.

Science: Dr. Anne-Sophie Bergot, Immunology Research Fellow at The University of Queensland Frazer Institute,

Technology: Fernanda Carrea, Vice President Technology at GroundProbe,

Engineering: Anna D'Angelo, Executive Director Technology & Leadership at Australian Flexible Pavements Association,

Mathematics: Dr. Melanie Roberts, Australian Research Council (ARC) Industry Fellow (Mid-Career) at Griffith University, and

Medicine: Dr. Smita Nambiar-Mann, Accredited Practising Dietitian and Lecturer at Queensland University of Technology.


Before speakers presentation and following the panel session, there will be ample opportunity for networking and connecting with fellow attendees, speakers, and industry leaders. We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to expand your professional network and foster collaborations.
